Groups

Share a song library with your band or team and build group songbooks together.

Groups are separate from one-on-one song collaboration. Use a group when everyone should see the same pool of songs and optional message board.

Creating and joining

  • Create a group: From Groups, choose Create group. You become an admin and the group owner.
  • Invitations: Admins can invite people by email. Invited users accept or decline from the link in the message (login may be required).
  • Pending invitations: On the main Groups page, you may see invitations sent to your account email—accept or decline there.

Members tab

Roles
  • Admin: Can edit the group, invite people, promote members to admin, remove members (within the rules below), and manage the shared library (e.g. import songs when allowed).
  • Member: Can view the group, add their own songs to the shared library, use group songbooks, and participate in group messages.
  • Owner: The member recorded as the group creator. Only the owner can demote an admin, transfer ownership, or remove another admin. The owner cannot be removed by another admin—they should leave and assign a new owner, or transfer ownership first.
Leaving
  • If you are the only admin, promote someone else before you can leave (when other members exist).
  • If you are the owner and others remain, choose a new owner (another admin) before leaving.
  • When you leave, songs you own are removed from the shared library and from all group songbooks.

Songs tab (shared library)

  • Members add songs from their own “My Songs” library into the group.
  • Song owners can allow group admins to import a copy into the admin’s personal library (optional checkbox when adding).
  • A song can be removed from the group by a group admin or by the song’s owner.
  • Removing a song takes it out of every group songbook that referenced it.

Songbooks tab

  • Group songbooks are ordered lists of songs chosen from the shared library.
  • Any member can create a songbook. Open a book to reorder entries, set per-song key/capo in the book, duplicate the book, or edit its name and description.
  • Delete: A songbook can be deleted by its creator or by a group admin.

Group messages

On the Members tab, members can post top-level messages and replies for the whole group (separate from per-song collaboration).

Activity log

Group admins see a Log tab on the group page. It lists recent events in reverse order, for example:

  • Invitations sent or resent
  • Someone joined via invitation
  • Members promoted, demoted, removed, or left
  • Ownership transfers
  • Songs added or removed from the shared library
  • Group songbooks created, updated, deleted, or duplicated
  • Songs added to or removed from a songbook

The log is removed when the group is deleted.

Deleting a group

Admins can delete the group from the group page. This permanently removes members, invitations, the shared library, group songbooks (and their contents), messages, and the activity log. This cannot be undone.
